The International Geneva Motor Show is an auto show held in March in the Swiss city of Geneva every year. The show is hosted at a convention centre called as the Geneva Palexpo located near the Cointrin International Airport, Geneva. This motor show is considered as a major international auto show. Every year the ‘Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles’ organizes this show.
This show was first held in 1905 where almost all major internal brands meet at one place. Every year, new models of exotic supercars steal the spotlight. Latest developments like new models, new equipment, technical breakthroughs, and international partnerships, including political and social debates will be mentioned here.
This show often exhibits many new models of cars and accessories. They are classified into different segments such as
- Motor cars 3 or 4 or more wheels.
- Electric cars and alternative powered cars.
- Special bodywork for motor cars, car design, engineering.
- Converted cars (tuners).
- Accessories and parts for motor cars including electric, electronic and mechanical parts
- OEM : original equipment manufacturers such as tire, car radio or cd player manufacturers etc.
- Workshop installations for the repair and maintenance of motor cars which include lifting devices, compressors, and all types of tools
- Miscellaneous products and services related to the car industry which includes books, journals, reviews, CDs etc.
