Review on Ford Focus: New York Times

The upcoming C-MAX Focus is targeted for the global car market. New York Times has given a list on few findings made on this cars. They are:

  • The Focus can travel even on the most convoluted mountain road
  • Changing direction quickly and displaying impressive adhesion
  • Confidence-inspiring composure
  • The steering is precise and predictable; the body, which benefits from the inclusion of high-strength steel, feels wonderfully rigid

Apart from the above said positive features, the Focus has some short comings too. The dual – clutch transmission is poorly calibrated. The transmission is often in the wrong gear at the wrong time which results in jerks, pauses and lethargic acceleration. Shifter when kept in sport position, delays shifts but has its own problem. Downshift of gear box is caused when the touching the brake while in sport. It is problematic for a driver to notice power shift problems.

Hence, the Focus is found to have both positive and negative features.
