Cloning is a biological process of producing genetically identical individual. It occurs in nature when organism like bacteria or plant reproduces asexually. In the field of biotechnology, cloning is referred as a process to create copies of DNA fragments, cells or organism.

In the field of cloning, South Korean scientists developed one new step. They developed a method to produce stem cell from cloned human embryos. The Dr. Woo Suk Hwang and Dr. Shin Yong Moon of Seoul led this research.

This team of national university successfully developed the 11 human stem cells, which are genetically identical to the donor. With this development many earlier mistakes were omitted. Following major things were discovered from this experiment:

Cell culturing method improved

Development of economical use of human eggs per cell line

Positive report after using genetic material from donor irrespective of their health and age

However, many critics with different point of view and fear also condemned this discovery. According to them, this discovery will lead to the cloning of human babies in the future.

The post South Koreans Report Success Cloning From Stem Cells first appeared on BIG-TOPICS.COM.
