Social media networking is changing continuously and reinventing itself. Marketing savvy auto dealerships keep going along these changes and modify their strategies accordingly. The following are the changes in the most famous websites.

YouTube comments tied with Google plus: YouTube recently started asking users to sign up for Google plus before allowing them to comment on videos. It is in a move that is producing an outpouring of criticism. This upgrade has make anger of many long time users. A change.org petition requesting Google, changes the comments section on YouTube back to its original form. It has collected more than one hundred thousand signatures in less than a week. And it is not just online trolls that are upset. The co-founder of YouTube Jawed Karim complained about this policy in a post on his YouTube personal page. With this upgrade, YouTube was apparently attempting to clean up the comment section by linking YouTube accounts to the actual identities. For the shaky rollout, YouTube has apologized and they are for now standing firm on this new change.

To showcase popular pins, Pinterest launched API: For developers, Pinterest released its first API. This new Application Programming Interface or API will allow third party sites to embed the Pinterest pins and make it simple to post content on Pinterest itself. Fundamentally, a popular widget new feature will even help brands display their items which are most recently pinned and most frequently pinned. The first partners access to this service are retailers and big brands such as Zappos, Whole Foods, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, Snapguide, Random House, Nestle, ModCloth, Mashable, Elle Magazine, BuzzFeed, Better Homes and Garden, and AllRecipes. According to a Pinterest’s blog post, more will be added soon.

Massive Google plus upgrades: Google plus recently announced a batch of upgrades created to enhance the Google plus experience and in a bid to take on industry leader Facebook. These new upgrades aim to take a lot of work out of photo editing, video calling and messaging. It is in the way of making the process of sharing on Google plus aesthetically pleasing and more streamlined. The eighteen new features will make it easier to conduct HD quality video broadcasts on Hangouts, create movies from video clips and enhance photos. A full list of the upgrades can be found on the Google plus blog.

Custom Twitter timelines: Now based on specific hashtags or topics in the Twitter with Tweetdeck users are allowed to create custom timelines. These new custom timelines work as a tool to create the information, allowing the users to event specific keywords or group phrases and give them more control on how Tweets organized and delivered. Each timeline have its own permalink page to make them easy to share. These are completely embeddable.

Each social media platform is unique for its own features and to communicate with the followers. These new features helpful to the marketers to make their online campaigns effectively.

It is a well know fact that teens have the highest penetration in to the social networking sites than any other age group. A new survey conducted by Pew Internet & American Life Project, in partnership with the Family Online Safety Institute found that 16% of online teens used Twitter in 2010 which is double the 8% figure found in 2009.

The survey also revealed that teen girls are more than twice as likely as boys to use the twitter service with 22% whereas the boys stood at 10% of the total populations. Furthermore, blacks are the people who use internet more than three times than the whites and also more than Hispanics. In case of older teens, the teens belonging to the higher income group are using more of internet when compared to the lower income group.

However, instead of these percentages, twitter is far from being called as the teen’s social network of choice since it is overtaken by the popular site facebook with 89% of the people having account in facebook, while only 59% have a twitter account. Also among teens with multiple accounts, 99% have profiles on facebook and in multi-network user group and only 29% had an account on Twitter.

The post Teen Girls are Tweeting More Than Boys: e Marketer first appeared on BIG-TOPICS.COM.
