Co enzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone, or ubidecarenone, or co enzyme Q, and abbreviated at times as CoQ10 , or Co Q is a powerful antioxidant and is found in almost every cell in the body. Co enzyme Q10 is naturally fat soluble vitamin and helps convert food into energy. It can be gathered in the heart, liver, pancreas and kidneys and also some of its amount is present in the lungs. This vitamin is essential for normal functioning of cells and can be used to treat in many diseases.

Since CoQ10 is a antioxidant, it fights against the free radicals that are present in the body that can cause damage to cells and DNA. Damage to DNA can cause cancer. This vitamin Q is essential for the normal functioning of cell.

Co enzyme Q-10 is used for treating heart and blood vessel conditions such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chest pain, high blood pressure, and heart problems linked to certain cancer drugs, used for treating diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, gum disease (both taken by mouth and applied directly to the gums), breast cancer, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, increasing exercise tolerance, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), obesity, and Lyme disease.

Co-enzyme Q-10 will also aids in treating hair loss related to taking warfarin, a medication used to slow blood clotting.

Co enzyme Q-10 can help increase energy because it produces ATP, a molecule in body cells that functions like a rechargeable battery in the transfer of energy. Co enzyme Q-10 been tried for treating inherited or acquired disorders that limit energy production in the cells of the body and for improving exercise performance.

It is also used for strengthening the immune systems of people with HIV/AIDS, male infertility, migraine headache, and counteracting muscle pain sometimes caused by a group of cholesterol-lowering medications called “statins.”

Co enzyme Q10 levels decrease with age or as the individual gets older.

Vitamin B15, also known as Pangamic acid (A derivative of the amino acid glycine (Pangamic acid is dim ethyl glycine)) is a water-soluble vitamin. Water-soluble means it is easily gets dissolved in water and is carried through blood stream and is excreted through urine daily. So, it is necessary to take daily but its essential requirement in the diet has not yet been proven because there is a debate going on this vitamin. The people who are deficient in this vitamin are not exhibiting any symptoms.

Research suggests that Vitamin B15 may aid in lowering the cholesterol levels in blood and helps in protein synthesis. This Vitamin has also been used to treat cancer, schizophrenia and heart disease.

Vitamin B15 has antioxidant features that promote immune system, increases cell life, combats fatigue, lower cholesterol levels in the blood and helps regulate hormones but it not readily available in the United States because FDA removed the vitamin B15 products in their market.

Vitamin B15 is found in a wide variety of food sources including whole grains such as brown rice, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, apricot seeds and sesame seeds. It is also found in brewer’s yeast, beef’s blood. Direct sunlight and water can reduce the level of potency and availability in these items. Good sources of vitamin B15 are whole grain cereals, rice bran, oats, organ meats and eggs.

Before taking pangamic acid supplements, make sure that you consult your physician regarding medical conditions or drugs you are taking because research is still going on this vitamin B15 whether it is an essential nutrient for the human body or not.

The post Food Sources of Pangamic Acid first appeared on BIG-TOPICS.COM.

Vitamin B15 is still a controversial “vitamin” because it has not yet been proven shown to be essential in the diet, and it does not exhibit any symptoms or deficiency diseases in the absence of vitamin B15 in the diet.

The Soviet Union and the European countries has been the most enthusiastic about Pangamic acid because they are feeling that it is a very important nutrient in treating a physiological actions that can treat a multitude of symptoms and diseases. Their scientists have shown that Pangamic supplementation can reduce the build up of lactic acid in sportsmen and thereby lessen muscle fatigue and increase endurance. It is used regularly in these countries for treating various problems such as alcoholism and drug addiction, mental problems such as those of aging and senility, minimal brain damage in children, autism, and schizophrenia, heart disease and high blood pressure, diabetes, skin diseases, liver disease, and chemical poisonings.

The FDA has banned Pangamic acid products from the US markets. So, this vitamin B15 is not available in America but their people use Dimethylglycine (DMG) as a substitute to increase Pangamic acid production in the body.

You do not experience any toxicity symptoms of vitamin B15 in your body even at higher amounts of 50 to 100 mg thrice a day because this will not exhibit any symptoms showing deficiency. Suppose if it exhibits some symptoms, it lasts for only few days. The symptom can be mild nausea if you take pangamates at higher levels.

There is limited information about deficiencies of Pangamic acid because research is still going on. Though some diminished circulatory and oxygenation functions are possible if there is an absence of vitamin B15 in your diet that is decreased cell respiration—that is, decreased oxygen use by cells—may influence many other cellular functions which may lead to effects on the heart.

The post Toxicity Symptoms of Vitamin B15 first appeared on BIG-TOPICS.COM.

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, plays a major role in enhancing lightening in skin tone and suppleness. Vitamin C is responsible for production of melanin that results in brighter and lighter skin. Melanin is a pigment that imparts a dark color to the skin. Vitamin C is also required for synthesis of collagen which declines significantly as the skin ages. Collagen helps in keeping the skin strong. Eating foods that are rich in Vitamin C such as citrus fruits and juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas will provide a good skin color.

Vitamin A is essential for maintaining a strong and healthy skin. If you feel that your skin is not tight enough, it is due to lack of Vitamin A. The skin is composed of Retinol which is Vitamin A. By eating food that is rich in Vitamin A will help to minimize the effects of sun damage caused to the skin. The foods rich in Vitamin A include milk, oysters, and egg yolks.

It is essential in minimizing exposure of your skin to sunlight and pollution. UVA/UVB rays are harmful to the skin and may slowdown the repair of the damaged skin cells. There are other ways to protect the skin from getting damaged such as applying sunscreen during the exposure of sunlight, wearing a mask at polluted areas, exercising daily and drinking plenty of water will whiten your skin and improve skin complexion.

The post Essential Vitamins for Whitening of Skin first appeared on BIG-TOPICS.COM.

Vitamins are the essential constituents of a diet that ensure perfect functioning of a body. They also enhance the physical and mental health of an individual. Presence of little amounts of vitamins is enough for the efficient functioning of the body. Go through to know about the different types of vitamins.

Vitamins are generally classified into two categories based on their solubility. They include water soluble and fat soluble vitamins. Those which are soluble in water are termed water soluble vitamins and they include vitamin B and vitamin C. Fat soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E and K.

Vitamin A, also called as retinol is essential for growth and healthy skin and hair. It even plays a key role in maintaining the immune system of the body. It also ensures perfect eye health and reduces any vision disabilities. Vitamin A is present in various food sources including milk, cheese, butter, chicken, eggs and fish oil. A compound called beta carotene that is present in various sources gets converted to vitamin A after reaching the body.

Vitamin B includes a complex of vitamins including vitamin B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (nicotinic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cobalamine), biotin and pantothenic acid. Vitamins B6 and B12 help in cell repair, digestion, production of energy and also in maintenance of immune system. Vitamin B12 helps in carbohydrate and fat metabolism. Various other kinds of B vitamins have several significant roles in maintaining physiology of the body. Yeast extracts, animal products like meat, milk and eggs, nuts and pulses, and wholegrain cereals are some of the sources of vitamin B.

Vitamin C, which is important for growth, healthy body tissue, wound repair and an efficient immune system, is present in fresh fruits and vegetables. It even reduces cholesterol levels and regulates blood pressure. Vitamin D is found in fish oil, cod liver oil and dairy products. It plays an important role in calcium absorption and is essential for bone and teeth health. Vitamin E, found in corn oil, olive oil, sweet potatoes and so on, has a role in maintenance of healthy heart, blood and circulation. Vitamin K is a fat soluble vitamin which is involved in blood clotting process and maintenance of strong bones. Since, every vitamin has its own significant role, the uptake of each and every vitamin is very much needed for your body. Hence, ensure taking vitamin rich diet and supplements regularly.
